Cobaea scandens is typically grown as an annual, ideally situated on walls, fences, or pergolas. It can also be tried in pots, where it ascends a support structure made of hazel sticks or bamboo canes. In exceptionally mild winters, the plants might survive and mostly retain their green foliage, although this occurrence is pretty rare.
