How to Grow
Start rosemary seeds indoors between February and May, providing a warm environment to encourage germination. This perennial herb thrives with some attentive care and prefers a sunny spot once transplanted outdoors or into containers.
Sowing
Scatter the seeds thinly onto damp but well-drained soil and cover lightly. Place the container in a clear sealed environment in a sunny location to maintain warmth and moisture, which aids germination.
Growing
Once seedlings have established, pot on into 25 cm containers or plant in garden beds, allowing enough space for growth. Harden off the young plants before moving them outdoors to ensure they adapt well to outdoor conditions.
Plant care
Water rosemary moderately, allowing the soil to dry slightly between watering to prevent root rot. Regularly pinch back the tips to encourage bushier growth and maintain a compact shape, especially when grown in containers or window boxes.
