How to Grow
Cosmos 'Apricotta' seeds can be started indoors from March to June or sown directly outside after the last frost, ideally in a sunny spot. They thrive in well-drained soil, which promotes their elegant flowering throughout the summer months.
Sowing
Sow the seeds about 3mm deep in a small tray filled with compost and cover with a clear container to maintain warmth, placing them on a warm windowsill for best germination.
Growing
Once seedlings have grown, thin them to allow enough space for healthy development or pot on into 30cm containers, ensuring they have ample room to reach their typical height and spread. Hardening off before planting out in June helps them adjust to outdoor conditions.
Plant care
Water regularly but avoid waterlogging, especially during dry spells in summer. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming from June to October, and occasional feeding will support their growth and vibrant apricot-coloured blooms.
