About Nicotiana Lime Green

Nicotiana alata 'Lime Green' is a tender perennial that is vigorous but has a short lifespan. The plant has broad, spoon-shaped leaves and produces large, funnel-shaped flowers in a striking lime-green hue. Although the blooms tend to wilt during the day, they come alive from early evening onwards and release a captivating fragrance. These flowers are particularly attractive to night-flying moths, making them a popular choice for gardeners who wish to create a nighttime oasis.

In The Records

It is believed that this plant originated in the highland Andes, most likely in Bolivia or northern Argentina, and was the result of the hybridization of two older species, namely N. sylvestris and a member of the Tomentosae section, possibly N. tomentosiformis Goodspeed.
